Husband investigated in stabbing death of wife at Miramar home

MIRAMAR--A man is under investigation after his wife was stabbed to death Tuesday morning police said on Tuesday.

The husband was arrested after police were sent to a home on the 1700 block of Southwest 83rd Place to investigate after 911 operators received a hangup call around 11:28 a.m. Tuesday. 911 workers called back, but no one would answer.

When officers arrived at the house, no one answered door knocks. Police ultimately forced their way into the home and found the woman dead and the man injured, said Officer Bill Robertson, police spokesman.

The man and woman were not immediately identified.

Police said the husband was conscious when police arrived, but lost consciousness by the time he was hospitalized. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood where he underwent surgery. Police said the husband had been stabbed, but would not say where or how many times. The injury was non-life threatening, Robertson said.

The investigation continues.
